Your Body is Sending You a Message
Are You Listening?
by Adena DeLillo

Your body has been trying to talk to you.
Not in a dramatic, burning-bush kind of way. More like a patient, persistent friend who has been tapping you on the shoulder for months — maybe years — while you smiled, nodded, and kept right on moving.
The headaches. The fatigue that coffee stopped fixing somewhere around 2019. The tension in your shoulders that has become so familiar you've stopped noticing it. The weight that won't budge no matter what you try. The sleep that doesn't actually restore you.
That's not just aging, friend. That's a message.
We Are Masters of Override
Women are remarkably gifted at ignoring their own bodies. We have elevated "pushing through" to an art form.
Tired? Push through. Stressed? Push through. Hormones staging a full rebellion? Take some ibuprofen and push through.
We treat our bodies like a slightly unreliable car — we ignore the warning lights, skip the maintenance, and just keep driving until we're stranded on the side of the road wondering how on earth we got here.
Sound familiar? 😄
Your Body is Not Your Enemy
Here's something I want you to hear today — your body is not failing you. It is communicating with you.
That exhaustion? It's asking for rest. That tension? It's asking for relief. That brain fog? It's asking for nourishment — physical, mental, and spiritual. That emotional eating? It's asking for comfort that goes deeper than food.
Your body is remarkably wise. It knows things your calendar doesn't. And when we learn to listen — really listen — it becomes one of the greatest guides on the journey toward wholeness.
God didn't give you a body to be managed and muscled through life. He gave you a body to be stewarded — with care, with grace, and with attention.
"We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure." — Hebrews 6:19
Wholeness isn't just spiritual, friend. It's physical too.
What Are You Actually Hungry For?
One of the most powerful questions I ask women in coaching is this: What are you actually hungry for?
Because sometimes the answer has nothing to do with food. Sometimes we are hungry for rest. For connection. For purpose. For someone to finally see us and say "I know. Me too."
When we address the whole person — mind, body, and soul — the body often begins to respond in ways that surprise us. Not because we found the perfect diet or the perfect workout plan. But because we finally addressed what was driving the disconnection in the first place.
What Coaching Can Do
In our coaching work together, we take an honest, compassionate look at how you are caring for your body — not to shame or prescribe, but to listen. Together we identify the barriers, the beliefs, and the behaviors that are keeping you from feeling your best.
Because you deserve to feel good in the body God gave you. Not someday. Not after you lose the weight or get the sleep or figure it all out. Now. In this season. In this body. In this beautiful, complicated, one-of-a-kind life of yours.
If your body has been tapping you on the shoulder lately — I'd encourage you to tap back. And if you'd like a safe, compassionate space to start that conversation, I'd love to offer you a free consultation call.
No judgment. No prescriptions. Just a real conversation about what your body — and your soul — might be trying to tell you.
